Equipoise, the Economics Club of IIM Ahmedabad, is a student-run initiative that focuses on the applications of Economics in management. A strong foundation in economics equips leaders with skills and helps them develop their worldview - which is an important and oft-underrated element determining how they conduct their business. As part of the annual management festival of IIMA, the club conducts a flagship event with wide participation from students across India, in a complex multi-stage event, like a simulation of Carbon credits trading. Within IIMA, quizzes, debate events like Economics Adda, and relevant workshops on areas like Game theory are also taken up. The club also guides students on career-related topics, whether they want to take up higher studies, or a job in the private/public sector through relevant ideas in economics literature – it’s a very wide field after all !
